About Workban
I built Workban so our work would be visible.
We are eight people, most of us in Munich and three in other cities, with 12 to 15 projects running at the same time. Since we started coding with AI agents, much of the work happens in terminals nobody sees but the person in front of them. Workban is my answer to that.
- 8 people
- 5 in Munich, 3 in other cities
- 12 to 15 projects at once
- 146 versions since September 11, 2026
Before
Many projects, people in different places, invisible work.
When everyone sits in one office, you can see who is working on what. Not all of us sit together. With twelve to fifteen projects at once, it was often unclear who was on which project right now, what was done and where the time went.
AI agents like Claude Code and Codex made that harder still. An agent finishes in a short time what used to take hours, and nobody files a ticket for it afterwards. The work was there, but you could not see it.
The idea
A board that keeps itself.
One more ticket system for someone to keep up would have changed nothing. So I built Workban so that the agent creates its task itself before it changes the first file and closes it after the commit. Time and cost add up along the way.
On the board, everyone sees who is working on what right now, person or agent, whatever the city.
Today
What changed for us.
- Our work is visible, including what an agent gets done in a colleague's terminal in another city
- We see who is working on what right now
- We see which project is getting the most work right now
Together
Better with every version, thanks to my colleagues.
Workban runs in our everyday work. Whatever got in the way there came back as feedback from my valued colleagues, and with every release Workban has become better and more stable.
My thanks also go to our owners and our CEO, who support us using Workban in our team.
Every version is in the changelog with its changes, and what comes next is on the roadmap.
Get started
Try it with your next task.
Workban is free. Your workspace is ready in a minute, and the first task appears as soon as your agent gets going. The app itself speaks German for now.
